PpcSoft iKnow

Remembering too much information is not easy. You may take all the notes you want, but they will still get lost or mixed in a heap of older ones. Even if you save them on a computer, it will not be easy to keep track of them. PpcSoft iKnow offers a simple, yet effective solution for this issue. It lets you create your notes like in any other word processor and it will organize them in a neat fashion. Thus, if you need one of your notes, you will be able to find them immediately.

After selecting a destination folder, during one of the setup wizard's steps, the installation process will begin and it will only take a few seconds to finish. The software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Win 7 and you may run it with average hardware, due to its modest system requirements.

iKnow features a MS Office-like interface. Font and paragraph options, as well as general ones can be found on the toolbar, under separate navigation tabs. It may resemble a software from the Office suite, but iKnow is not as complex and complicated. The options are easy to understand and none of them will take you through mazes of new windows, filled with all sorts of settings to make.

You can type your text or paste it in the main area of the interface. The toolbar options, under the Home tab, will let you make font adjustments and perform other actions, such as creating hyperlinks, accessing a dictionary, taking screenshots, and others. Screenshots can be made by clicking the designated button on the toolbar and it will be inserted automatically in your note as a hyperlink. Before it is inserted, a small window will show up where you can name it, crop or rotate it. It is also possible to insert any image from your hard drive by dragging and dropping it on the interface. Snapshots of web pages can be added as well, by clicking a button on the toolbar and then on the web page itself.

Notes can be created by clicking a New button on the toolbar and they will be organized automatically, in alphabetical order, in a list on the left side of the window. The inserted images can be found in a preview area, beneath the notes list. If you click an image, it will be displayed in the program's built-in image browser. If you need to find a specific note in a long list, you can just type its name or some of its content in a dialog box, above the notes list.
